15 Feb all the time in the world…
Whilst camping I went to fill up the water storage bottle at the water tap and there was a motorhome which was about to move forward. I thought they would be using the dump point first so I asked if I could use the water tap.
They said “of course… we are retired and we have all the time in the world., “
This got me thinking about the saying “have all the time in the world”
But we don’t… do we.
We all have a certain amount of time and that is all.
How we spend this time is soo important.
When people are asked, as they come to near the end of their lives, what do they wish they have done.. and it is always “I wished I had spent more time with the family”.
As we did our 2 year family gap year around Australia we met loads of grey nomads who said “I wished we had done the same thing whilst our children were young”.
So how can we ensure the time we have on this planet is spent exactly how we want it.
We need to take control of our lives and our choices. How much of what we do each day is just automatic without any thought “how can I do this differently”
Money will not make us happy but it will give us choices on how we control our lives and the choices.
Pay attention, even just for a week, how much of the week is making you happy and miserable. Think about ways you can change this.
For me, the times I was the happiest was outside of the corporate world and living a simple life in our caravan. Now living in a caravan 100% for the rest of my life is not for me but it did show me that rushing around, kids to school, work, pick up the kids, home for dinner, bed, repeat x 4, makes you wonder why we are all doing it.
We need to pay attention to the “manufactured antique” messages we receive every single day : we don’t have all the time in the world and should be spending it the way we want.
